The Great Philosopher Citizen.

The philosopher citizen is what a philosopher king would like to have. A person that seeks the truth and most of all the good. It is our duty as member of a fully functional society to involve ourselves in the world around us. If we are to go out and about, should we not be responsible for knowing our environment.

When I speak of environment, It is not in relation to Thoreau's nature. I refer to our interaction as humans within every aspect of life that surrounds us physically and mentally. We as humans have the privilege of using reason. The ability to form decisions based on consequences, outcomes, desires that do not derive solely from our basic instincts and needs

We are mentally complex creatures with an inquisitive nature. We should always look to ask why. The word why is an extremely powerful word. It carries so much meaning and strength.

Why does the sun rise every morning,?  Why does the universe not collapse? Why can't I stay up early for one more hour? The word why has tremendous context behind it. The word why has allowed us to question our very nature as humans. We have arrived socially, technologically, mentally; all prefixes that can end with the suffix -ly that pertain to humans, due to asking why.

What happens after why is answered is such a an interesting thing. One can either relinquish their curiosity and cease to inquire, become curious without analysis and ask why again without any thought, or one can take the information, analyze it and create a decision base on ones answer from why.

I would hope that out of all three the latter would be the best decision to arrive at. It is through analysing any answer to why that we become more enlightened.

As humans we must seek the truth, the unbiased, unadulterated, raw truth, in seeking truth we can discover who we are. In seeking truth others are not able to lie to you. In seeking truth you are set free.

It is in your mind that one must be the most free. It is your prime real estate. Your mind is the one place in the world where one can exist without boundaries, with out prejudice, with out anyone else's voice but your own. Do not let others rent your mind. It is the only commodity which you have absolute access to.

Most important of all through finding the truth we are able to find the good in who we are.
